Ahh, the Traditional cut. These are the originals, and they used to come in a purple box (which is why some people—myself included—still call these the "purple box" reeds, and not the "blue box" reeds). Ideal for intermediate or advanced bass clarinet players.
Feel free to buy single reeds—I don't charge a premium for breaking up a box, so you can just buy a few, or mix and match. Seriously no one else does this.
For those doing math, I price these reeds as one-fifth of a normal box of 5 reeds. But you don't need to buy a box to get this discount!

I am a soprano player who has to play bass for a few things coming up so I thought I would give the og Vandoren blue box a try. I have not tried a plethora of other reed types on bass but in my experience so far these seem to respond well and produce a nice tone (better than the tenor sax reed I used before purchasing these lol). 3.5s seem to work for the standard issue (bad) mouthpiece that comes with the instrument if that is what you have to use. Would definitely recommend.
