I love this swab, being able to drop it all the way through my bass clarinet without having to take it apart is great.

This is a great swab and the micro fiber here is superb - it really dries the instrument on the first pull.

I named my bass clarinet Thor. I’m really bad about swabbing Thor out, because what was the point? Silk swabs didn’t seem to do anything, and I couldn’t find anything that was built for him. I spotted this after clicking on a link for eargasm, and took a chance. Wow! Everything about this swab is well made. The retrieval string is a wide, flat, heavy duty twill. The sewing is top rate, and I have no fear giving the string a strong pull to bring it through Thor’s body.

I bought this swab after purchasing a new bass clarinet from Earspam, and it truly is "The Worl'd Best Bass Swab." The material is light, sturdy, does not get caught on itself or inside the bass, and absorbs moisture (aka spit) effectively without becoming waterlogged like some other swabs. My favorite thing is that it is able to fit through the top and bottom joints without needing to be taken apart. This was extremely helpful as I was breaking the bass in because I was spending less time taking the bass apart and putting it together, and more time playing! Thanks for a wonderful product :)

They were the best when I bought two of 'em 20 years ago, and the first one lasted that long, so I just bought a new spare!

You cannot BELIEVE how safe it made me feel during the break-in period on my new Backun Series Q Cocobolo bass. Not a DROP of moisture left inside, ever. Never tangles on the register vent tube, despite its amazing firm full contact with the bore.

You don't have to buy a Backun bass (although you SHOULD) to love this swab as much as it loves your instrument.

This swab is a little too thick for my bass neck, but it works great for the joints! Soaks up a lot more than my previous swab and seems very sturdy.

It works so much better than any other swab I've tried and honestly makes me enjoy swabbing to an extent.

Good smooth quality. Soaks up moisture in between 1 to 2 swipes. Peg makes it easier to push it down out. Must buy.

I have tried 4 different swabs, and this one is the best by far at drying on the first pass, going around the bends just fine.

This swab is thick enough to handle the moisture and thin enough to not get stuck on the register tube. Somebody was thinking. I pair it with a silk swab for the neck, and I’m dry and clean.

Excellent quality. A generous amount of absorbent fabric coupled with a long, sturdy pull make this my favorite swab.

Having been through a good number of such swabs this is indisputably the best one out there and I recommend it highly. Compared to the typical, standard silk swabs available, this does a complete and thorough job of removing the saliva with one pass through. I have always appreciated this shop. Small but mighty!!!!

It works exactly the way I need it to work!

This bass clarinet swab certainly lives up to it's name. I also purchased the clarinet swab and mouthpiece cloth both, also great. They dried the bore in one go and pulled through easily. They are the best swabs I have ever used including ones I have made myself.

As a swab I agree that this probably is the best swab in the world - I have not tried every swab so I can't really say that it is but it is definitely the best that I have ever used. It would be even better if the cord was at least 4 inches longer. It is not quite long enough to easily use on my Royal bass clarinet without taking it completely apart.

Wipes up the competition!

Perfect size to do a thorough job (usually in one pass), dries quickly. Sturdy. Should last a long time. I’d like a smaller one for neck and mouthpiece.

This is the best bass clarinet swab I've ever used. Period. The microfiber is very absorbent, the cord doesn't tangle, and the weight is hefty enough to flip around the bend in the bell. I pair this swab with a Protec Eb clarinet swab for the neck, and together they are extremely effective.

This is , by far, the best cloth for absorbing the moisture in my bass clarinet that I have ever used. My instrument is old and a bit narrow so I need to position the cloth just right to get it through! I especially like the long chord.

Great swab but the metal weight tends to drop out after a while. I'm thinking of wrapping some thread around it.

As advertised, it's a high-quality product and material. It's also quite handy that it fits through both the upper and lower joints at the same time.

Simply, the title is not an exaggeration. My bass clarinet is incredibly expensive, however, it is not an expense. It is an investment into my career. Aside from my instrument and mouthpiece… This swab is the best investment that I've made.

As instructed, do not try to pull this through your neck or bell. You may need another swab for that… my cleanup and disassembly still happens quicker than in the past being the swab is so absorbent and efficient.



It is absolutely worth every penny, as are you and your instrument.
