Rovner Dark Bass Clarinet Ligature
Rovner Dark Bass Clarinet Ligature
Rovner ligatures are something most of us have used in our lifetimes. I certainly did — I was given one after I stepped on several metal ligatures when I was a kid. Cloth doesn't bend; problem solved.
The Rovner Dark ligature was that ligature. It's their O.G., and it's a simple little ligature that is indestructible, sounds good, and is inexpensive.
Below, you will find a playlist of all Rovner ligatures that we carry, so you can compare how each sounds, as well as comparing to the Vandoren Optimum and M|O ligatures.
The Rovner Dark is a bit less responsive than some of their higher-end models, which means that the reed doesn't vibrate as quickly. It's a really subtle thing, to be sure, but I noticed the difference when playing it. Have a listen to the sound samples to see how the Rovner Dark stacks up against its siblings, or download the high-quality sound files here.
Oh, and it comes with a cap, too.
Listen and compare Rovner ligatures!
All of these recordings were made with the same reed, and the exact same reed-placement on the mouthpiece, so that you can more easily hear the differences between ligatures (instead of differences between reeds!)
