Carbon Fiber Bass Clarinet Stand
Carbon Fiber Bass Clarinet Stand
This is my favorite bass clarinet stand for traveling.
Why is it my favorite stand? Because it weighs about a pound (0,5 kg). Because it disassembles and fits in my bass clarinet case. Because it's built like a tank. Because the guy who makes it is a gem of a human being (Gijs van Leeuwen; his first name rhymes with "Case" in case you're wondering).
I've personally used this stand for 5 years and it still looks as good as the day I got it. It's never — not once — tipped over. Can you tell I love it?
So what is it exactly? This stand comes in 5 parts (I know the picture shows 6, but one of those rods fits inside another. Trust me.):
- The main tube + legs
- The extension tube (because Low C bass clarinets are LONG)
- The neck collar
- The bell cup
- The "Tinkertoy" thingy that everything fits into.
You can assemble it in under a minute once you know how (it comes with instructions and a link to a video if you're a visual learner).
Below you can watch a video I made back in 2015 comparing three bass clarinet stands I own. Just scroll down.
I guarantee you will love it. If you don't, I'll buy it back from you.

Great stand, I was getting tired of carrying my K&M stand around, it's heavy and keeps toppling over and out of my totes bag.
It's super super light, but the best benefit for me is how little space it takes.
Quite stable too not worried about it falling over, but of course moves more than bigger/heavier stands
One thing to note: the cup piece that holds the top joint does not fit in my Yamaha hard-case when I put it over the bell like it is suggested. I still manage to lodge it in the compartment where my reeds go, so it's not a deal breaker imo
Having a strong bass clarinet stand that can be folded and stored in my bass case has freed me up considerably, made load-in and set-up child's play, and in general dramatically increased my musical mobility
I’ve been using this stand for about four weeks now, and it’s phenomenal! Easy to set up, lightweight, sleek, and overall just a great stand. What really stood out to me is that the entire thing can fit seamlessly inside my Bonna bass clarinet double case so that I can take it on the go, the quality is just insane. Love this stand!
This stand provides a stable place for my low E flat bass clarinet at an incredibly light weight. I now keep my K&M stand at home and bring the carbon fiber stand to rehearsal. Took a few tries to get proficient at putting together but it goes together fast now. Glad I bought it and fast shipping with Michael.
This thing is amazing. I thought I was shipped an empty box until I opened it. It weighs almost nothing. It’s a bit different than in the 2015 video.: The part that holds the bottom cup isn’t a magnet, but this design is probably better. I hated to spend that much money in a stand. But it was worth it.
